What do Jamesville-Dewitt High School students think are the fun or boring electives offered here?
Seniors have had the most opportunities to take electives and many of them recommend art electives. Senior Imad Al Rifaai has taken Film Heritage, Studio Art, and Woodworking. His favorite electives are all the art ones because they’re fun and the teachers are really nice. Senior Hazza Alhamwi favorite elective is Woodworking. He has previously taken Psychology, Film Heritage, and Design, DDP, and Drawing and Painting. Alhamwi is looking forward to Sports Psychology next semester.
Senior Kaia Etuale has taken Psychology, Reading Films, Ceramics, Studio Art, and Pop Culture Texts and Psychology as her electives. Etuale did not enjoy Pop Culture Texts and Psychology very much. Her favorite and most helpful elective was Psychology since she is looking forward to being a psychology major. Senior Zoe McCarthy has taken Psychology and Pop Culture Texts and Psychology, Chorus, and Yearbook. McCarthy also didn’t enjoy Pop Culture Texts and Psychology much too. Her favorite elective is Yearbook because it’s fun and you get to work on parts of the yearbook that you want to.
Junior Maria Fisher has taken Journalism, Creative Writing, Chorus, Voice Class, Sports Psychology, and Health as her electives. Her favorite elective is Chorus because she likes singing and she gets to hangout with her friends. She is most looking forward to Broadcast Journalism next year.
Junior Jayden Addai has taken Psychology, Sports Psychology, Ceramics, and Studio Art as his electives. His favorite was Psychology because it was fun to learn about. He is most excited to take SUPA Psychology next year. Junior Isayah Campbell has taken Woodworking one and two and Psychology. His favorite was Woodworking two. He is also looking forward to SUPA Psychology.
Sophomore Rachel Pettiford has taken Health and Ceramics as her electives. Her current favorite is Ceramics as she has taken this course in the previous year as well. Pettiford’s next electives are AP European History, and Psychology. She is very much excited for Psychology. Sophomore Lauren Wright is currently taking Practical Law, which is her favorite because it teaches her a lot of new things that she may need to use in the future. She is looking forward to Psychology class for this upcoming semester.
Sophomore Gemma Mone has previously taken Chorus and Voice Class as some electives. Her favorite elective is Chorus because she loves to meet all the new people there from different grades, enjoys what they do there and loves the teacher, Eric Toyama. Mone is looking forward to taking her new Psychology class next semester. Freshman Grace Toyama currently takes Orchestra, Chorus, and Drawing and Painting. Her current favorite is Drawing and Painting with Brodsky. She’s looking forward to her next semester Voice Class with Chorus teacher Eric Toyama.
Freshman Lily Dadey is taking Media Production one which is her favorite. She is looking forward to Media Production two. Freshman Micheal Lorenzo has taken Chorus and DDP as his electives. He is looking forward to SIM and Film. His favorite elective he has taken is DDP because he likes using the software program, Fusion, in class. Freshman Sumanah Azeem has taken Ceramics and Orchestra as her electives. Her favorite elective is Ceramics because her creativity was able to flourish through the projects she had created. She is most looking forward to Photography.
