Superintendent Darcy Woodcock and Principal Gregory Lawson presented students with a Letter of Commendation from the National Merit Scholarship Corporation on Tuesday, Oct. 21. The list of students receiving this letter includes the following seniors:
- Lauren Caporaso
- Nicole Chen
- Daniel Luo
- Flora Mei
- Daniel Nemi
- Rehaan Rekhesh
- Emma Ralph
- Oscar Williamson
- Olivia Yang
These seniors all demonstrated impressive work ethics and achieved very high scores on the PSAT, which is why they received a Letter of Commendation from the National Merit Scholarship Corporation. This award essentially congratulates students for their promising work on the PSAT; recognizing the top 3-4 percent of students taking the test.
Nemi felt confident about the score he received on this test. Rakhesh added onto this by saying “I had taken an SAT before so I was pretty confident with my score.” Others, like Mei, agreed with both Nemi and Rakhesh, feeling the same confidence after finishing the test. “I thought it was not too difficult and checked all of my work, so I thought I did well,” said Mei. Nicole Chen was less confident and thought that she didn’t do well but was pleasantly surprised when the grades came out.
