Students at Jamesville-Dewitt High School had many adventures planned during the two weeks off over December.
Some students are planned on getting out of Syracuse, like sophomore Luke Austin. “I am going to California, I’m gonna visit family that I have not seen in a while,” said Austin. Freshman Phoebe True-Frost traveled a lot during the break. “I will be going to San Diego and San Francisco and maybe Hawaii,” said True-Frost. True-Frost said she was going there because she has family in both San Diego and San Francisco, and her mom might have had a work trip. Freshman Quinton Caldwell was planning his winter break away from Syracuse. “Im going to Maui, I’m going to go to visit my family,” said Caldwell. Caldwell was planning to eat local foods, and visit the volcano. Freshman Destiny Queen is planning to get away from Syracuse as well. “I am going to Virginia to visit family,” said Queen.
For people who aren’t leaving, you could check out new places like Shake Shack. “The service was alright as it took super long because it was packed but the food was really good though,” said Austin. Sophomores Harrison Doran and Luca Ferlenda told us their opinions on the new restaurants on Erie Boulevard. “Chick-fil-a is amazing and the food there is really good,” said Doran. Ferlenda said, “I think Chick-Fil-A is good and it’s a good place to get people on the Blvd.
Some people spent time with their family and friends over the break like, junior Jaylen Humphrey who was ready for his break. “I am excited to open gifts on Christmas,” said Humphrey. Humphrey was excited to sleep, and hangout with family and friends. Senior Nora Barnello went with Sam Wheeler and Thearyn Wales for a JCPenney photoshoot for her mother. Barnello recommended people spend time with family and friends.
