As the wind brings in dead leaves and pumpkins, J-DHS students reflect on their fall activities, with traditional activities like pumpkin picking, apple picking, and going to scary haunted houses being favorites.
On days with lovely weather, students find themselves hunting down pumpkins in the pumpkin patch. Sophomore Fiona Dittman likes to go pumpkin picking at Tim’s Pumpkin Patch and carves them because it’s really fun. Freshman Lia Albanese enjoys its fall-ish nature and she likes to wear cute outfits. Freshman Will Atwater likes to carve scary faces into them afterwards because it is fun. He then bakes the seeds after and eats them.
In a similar vein, some students enjoy apple picking during the fall. Sophomore Layla Al-Mudamgha likes to go apple picking and enjoys drinking the apple cider after. Sophomore Nathan Santos likes to go apple picking with his family because it is fun. His favorite apple is honey crisp.
When the weather is a little too chilly, some students turn toward watching football. Senior Chase Dera likes to watch football during the fall because he is spending time with his friends and family. He watches NFL football and cheers on the Buffalo BIlls. Sophomore Luca Ferlenda enjoys watching the intense football games during the fall because it’s entertaining. He watches NFL football and cheers for the Buffalo Bills as well.
For a more exhilarating adventure, Sophomore Nozila Alibekova loves the scariness of Fright Nights. Fright Nights is open every Friday-Saturday from 7 p.m-12 a.m, and Sundays 7 p.m – 11 p.m until October 26 and is located at 1 LePage Pl, Syracuse NY 13206. Alibekova loves going to Fright Nights every year because it’s fun and it’s not too hot outside. Junior Violet Gross enjoys hanging out with her friends and loves going to Fright Nights with them.
