What to Do in Syracuse During the Holiday Season

In the past year or two, the pandemic has made it increasingly difficult for families and friends to gather over the holiday season. Attempting to help this issue, Syracuse is hosting a multitude of timely events over the next few weeks.

The Adventures of Rudolph” Ballet Performance

In the Mulroy Civic Center at OnCenter, “The Adventures of Rudolph,” a narrated holiday ballet will be performed by students of the Center of Ballet and Dance Arts. This performance will take place between December 9-December 11 from 11 a.m. to 12:30 p.m. Tickets range from $10-$19. 

Crunch Games

There are a series of Crunch games taking place in Syracuse throughout November and December. At the Upstate Medical University Arena at Oncenter, the Syracuse Crunch will play on 12/03, 12/04, 12/08, 12/17, 12/18, and 12/22. For more information click here.

Festival of Trees

The Agriculture and Country Living Museum is holding the “Festival of Trees.” The museum will be decorated with over 18,000 feet of displays and 100 decorated Christmas trees of all shapes and sizes. You can vote for your favorite tree from November 15 through December 31. 

Erie Canal Gingerbread Gallery

The 36th annual Gingerbread Gallery will be returning this year. This gallery will be showcasing the most elaborate gingerbread house creations. Tickets will be available at the door and will not be available for pre-purchase. Visitors will have access to the entirety of the Erie Canal Museum. Face coverings will be required for all staff and visitors. The Gingerbread Gallery will be open daily beginning November 19, 2021, through January 9, 2022, and will run from 10 p.m. to 4 p.m. The museum will be closed on Thanksgiving and Christmas day, as well as shortened hours on Christmas Eve and New Year’s Eve. Lights on the Lake

Lights on the Lake in Liverpool is showcasing holiday drive-thru light displays from November 15, 2021, to January 14, 2022. This event begins at 5 p.m. and runs until 10 p.m. Tickets must be purchased in advance and are only available online

Clinton Square Ice Skating

Ice skating in Clinton Square will be open daily until March 11. Admission is $3 for adults, $1.50 for children and seniors, and skate rentals are an additional $3.
