As of 3:46 p.m. Monday afternoon, Onondaga County declared two cases of COVID-19, also known as the coronavirus. Both cases were found due to testing that commenced Monday morning.

In response to the cases, all schools in Onondaga County will be closed as of 4 p.m. Monday afternoon. Various local public schools, including Fayetteville-Manlius, Skaneateles, and Jordan-Elbridge have already closed their doors, as well as private schools including the Syracuse Hebrew Day School and Manlius Pebble Hill. 

As of 8 p.m. Monday night, all restaurants, bars, and movies theatres across New York State will close, effective immediately in order to mitigate the spread of the coronavirus.
