JDHS Key Club Gives Back This Holiday Season

Karunmay Aggarwaland and Serena Patel

Every year, members of JD’s Key Club bell-ring at Destiny USA to raise money for Salvation Army. Through this tradition, we always find joy in rallying holiday spirit and raising money to help those in need. However, with concerns about COVID-19 this season, we wanted to be conscientious of our safety but also volunteer for a good cause, so our group of dedicated and empathetic members decided to relocate to Tops in DeWitt. We cheerfully stood in the Tops foyer, ringing bells while greeting incoming Tops customers—it seems simple, but we were able to converse with many individuals and shine a glimpse of happiness into their day! And to top it off, we raised a lot of money to support the Salvation Army. In a year full of uncertainty and tough times, JD Key Club jumped at the opportunity to continue our bell-ringing tradition and get into the holiday spirit, all while giving back to our community!
