One of the most special yearly traditions that happens at Jamesville-DeWitt High School, J-D Day, is set to have its 2023 debut this Friday, May 26. J-D Day is a fun event for students and staff to celebrate the end of the school year by spending the day outside with a plethora of activities and food. However, some students have questions on what is going to be present at J-D day, both activities and food wise.

To start off with the food, many students believe the prices are a little hefty. Tully’s Tenders, for example, is being served on J-D Day, and the prices are $1 for 3 tenders, 2 for $5 dollars, and 3 for $8. Other foods served this Friday on J-D Day include pizza, hot dogs, burgers, salads, popcorn, cookies, and burritos. On the drinks side, beverages include water, soda, and iced coffee. The full price sheet is listed below.

On the other hand, with the activities, there will be the famous Dunk Tank, where students and staff can participate in, both throwing and sitting in the dunk tank. The tickets for the dunk tank will include 3 tickets for $1, as listed above. One of the teachers that is confirmed to be on the dunk tank is chemistry teacher Eugene Sul. Other activities that will be played include Spikeball, and teacher vs. student kickball. Students can sign up to participate in the fun interactive kickball game by clicking on the email they received Wednesday (5/24).

It’s important to note that the school day schedule will be modified for J-D Day. Because the festivities begin at noon, every period will be shortened along with a second homeroom period immediately before the activities begin.

Students and staff are more than excited about upcoming J-D day, to relieve stress from classes and make memories with friends, while getting to leave classes early. 2023 J-D Day strives to be one of the best J-D Day’s that has come over the years.
