J-DHS Spanish Classes — Spring 2020
As a way of providing both an educational experience and creative outlet, Señora De Jesús and Señora Slade recently asked their Spanish 3 students to recreate a work of art by a famous Hispanic artist. From Frida Kahlo to Fernando Botero, students used household materials (and sometimes family members) to reproduce the scenes depicted in some of the world’s most-well known artwork. The assignment was inspired by the Getty Museum, which publicized a challenge for people to recreate classic artwork using only objects they had on hand during the quarantine.
