Governor Andrew Cuomo has announced the extension of school board elections by a week for the entirety of New York State. The Jamesville-DeWitt School Board and Budget Election deadline was Tuesday, June 9th, however this has now been extended till Tuesday, June 16th.

Residents of the J-D school district will elect three new school board members, with seven candidates running for these positions. These candidates are Kerry Coleman-Herrick, Michael Gilbert Psy.D., (George) Joseph Gross, Michelle Kielbasinski, David Leach, Steve Theobald and Christine Woodcock Dettor.

Over the next week letters written to the Jamesville-DeWitt High School community by the candidates will be posted, allowing for residents of the district to gain a better idea of who the candidates are and what they wish to accomplish if elected.

Detailed copies of the budget are available by contacting the district office. Residents are invited to attend the virtual budget hearing scheduled for Monday, June 1, 7:00 PM.
