Eight Seniors Sign National Letters of Intent

Eight seniors at Jamesville-DeWitt High School signed their National Letters of Intent last Thursday afternoon. Four different teams and three different sports were represented, with both the girls and boys lacrosse teams having three members each sign with a collegiate squad.

Each athlete had a few minutes to speak about their experiences and thank their mentors and coaches. Many of them specifically highlighted how local programs like JDYAA and Orange Crush Lacrosse were able to help them develop their skills from a young age.

Another focus within several of the student-athletes’ remarks was how much more they are valuing their chance to continue their playing careers given the current situation of the world. High school sports seasons have been altered, postponed, and even cancelled. This has given some perspective to the signees. “You can’t take anything for granted,” said basketball player Momo LaClair. “Especially this year.”
