What makes your slate unique?
Our slate is unique because we represent a variety of interests and student groups at J-D. We have group members that play sports, participate in clubs, volunteer outside of school, and more. In addition, we are not just trying to better the school, we are also striving to have fun with it. In all of our ideas for fundraisers and events so far, we have added our own touch to it and made the events unique compared to other things you’d expect to see.
What are some of your plans for the school year?
Our plans for the school year would be to arrange a variety of fundraisers, dances, talent shows, and other ways for the student body to enjoy themselves. We would also institute an anonymous tutoring service for students to get academic help at the drop of a hat. In addition, we would also like to have “Food Days” once a month where students can come to the cafeteria and have food, play games, and decompress while talking to friends. Our main fundraising ideas so far involve collaborating with Helping Hounds, and we have multiple group members who volunteer or have adopted pets there.
Why should people vote for your slate?
Students should vote for our slate because we legitimately care about each and every one of you. We don’t just want to help our sports teams, art programs, or academic clubs. We want to aid all of them, to unite our class. This group of people is genuinely caring and shockingly committed to taking part in this adventure. We are also one of the most experienced slates, having multiple members who participated in student council for several years starting in middle school. If you vote for Slate One, we promise that we will do our very best to help each and every one of you thrive and succeed.
What will be your main goal as slate officers if you win?
If we win, Slate One will pursue all of the aforementioned events and fundraisers, as well as work hard to think of new ones. In addition, we won’t just rely on ourselves to make decisions, but ask the student body for their input and ideas. We want to create an atmosphere where it’s okay to share your thoughts and opinions and discuss them with like-minded people. If elected, Slate One will improve your time here at J-D, and that’s a guarantee. Thank you for reading, and remember to vote for Slate One!
