The CBA/J-D Brothers ice hockey team didn’t start the season off on the right skate. They lost to Syracuse, Cortland-Homer, and West Genesee by a combined score of 9-3. This stretch included their first ever game at the New York State Fair Coliseum.
Since then, the Brothers have rebounded, going undefeated in the following three matchups. Wins over C-NS and Oswego helped them get back on track.
This has certainly been a season of adjustments for CBA/J-D. Not only are they playing in a new stadium, but there are also numerous safety protocols in place due to COVID-19.
Coach Mike McKie said that the team has been very diligent with all the new rules. “We temp players before every practice and games. We are all tested weekly. They arrive at the rink dressed, except for their skates and always wear their masks.”
The Brothers will look to continue their improving play with a matchup when they host Auburn on Friday, February 26th.
As for what McKie tells his players most this season, the message is very simple. “Go out and do your best, put 100% into your game, enjoy what you’re doing, and always wear your masks.”
