Mrs. Wisnieski, J-DHS Faculty Member
For more than 5 years, I have been hosting a Thanksgiving meal for the ENL community and Cultural Connections Club members.
This year it will take place on Tuesday, November 20th in Room W01 during all lunch periods.
All parts of the meal are homemade in my own kitchen and brought to school. The main purpose is to create a sense of community and understanding of gratitude. Regardless of the language you speak or the country you are from, food is one thing that joins us all together. My classroom most certainly has a feeling of being at home with your family- which is one thing that many of these students miss having moved to a new country and culture.
Some items included in the menu are turkey, gravy, stuffing, corn, mashed potatoes, cornbread, rolls, apple pie, and pumpkin pie.
