Every year, the seniors await one last event to conclude their time together at Jamesville-DeWitt High School. This year’s senior ball was a night to remember. On June 7, at the Doubletree Hotel, the class of 2014 and their dates enjoyed food and dancing with bowling to follow.
Expectations for ball were high, as they are every year. After three years of hearing about the anticipated event, it was finally time for the seniors to experience it for themselves. According to students who attended this year, their expectations were fulfilled. “I really enjoyed the food and the bowling was also fun,” said junior Josh Frank, who attended ball with a senior. “I thought it was really cool because everyone was up and dancing,” added senior Ali Butler. Senior Kara Gantos agreed with Butler, saying that it was fun to see everyone dancing.
For many however, it was the bowling at the after party that was the highlight. The after party was organized by Operation Graduation and was held at Mattydale Strike n’ Spare. In addition to bowling, there was more food, a photo booth, and prizes for everyone, including an xBox and iPad mini for Butler and Gantos respectively. “Everything at the after party was top notch,” said senior Maki Mandelis. Overall it was a fun night for all who attended and a great way to end the seniors’ year.
