On Saturday, Jan. 7, 2017, Jamesville-DeWitt High School’s Breast Cancer Awareness club, Bust a Move, and the Senior Class officers will be hosting the annual J-DHS Semi-Formal dance from 7 pm to 10 pm in the Auxiliary Gym. Tickets cost $10 and are available for purchase during lunches all week and also at the door. Snacks and drinks will be sold during the dance as well. Proceeds will be split between the Senior Class and Bust a Move, who will donate to the Stupid Dumb Breast Cancer Foundation.
Over the years, the job of planning the J-DHS Semi-Formal has switched between different groups within the school, but this will be the second time Bust a Move Club will pair with the Senior Class Officers to put on the dance. Bust a Move used to host a Halloween dance, but once the position became open to host the Semi-Formal, both Bust a Move and the Senior Class jumped on the oppotunity to use it as a fundraiser. Sharing the Semi-Formal will help the Senior Class fundraise for their Senior Ball, which will take place in June, and will also help Bust a Move fundraise for breast cancer awareness.
