On Oct. 17 the Jamesville-DeWitt High School Boys Varsity and JV soccer teams laced up to kick away cancer. Under the guidance of Paul Krause the district computer technician and JV Boys Soccer Coach, the team and event ran very smoothly. “A ton of people from both communities were there to show awareness, fight cancer and to watch a pretty good soccer game.” said Coach Krause. The varsity team tied with Baldwinsville and the JV team lost. Coach Krause was hoping to break the record and raise $4,000 through the event this year that will be donated to the American Cancer Society to support the research for cancer cures. The final check was presented with the total of $5,036. “I was not expecting to break $5,000.” said Coach Krause.
