How many of you know Mrs. Rachel Reichel? She is Jamesville-Dewitt High School’s attendance secretary. She starts her day off by getting to school at 7 a.m. Once school starts she becomes super busy in the morning, signing in students that come to school late. Even though she is very busy, interacting with the students is her favorite part of the day.
Many of the seniors and juniors know Mrs. Reichel because they have to sign in and sign out with her if they go to BOCES or have early dismissal or late arrival.
She has to keep a list of who is here and who isn’t and if you aren’t at school she has to make a phone call to parents to ask why a student is absent. She has to manage the attendance of everyone and keep track of who comes in late and who leaves early
On breaks from school Mrs. Reichel loves to travel around the world and go to places that are very sunny and have beaches. Recently she has been traveling out West, which she also enjoys. Another thing she likes to do is hiking and reading in her free time.
Before Mrs. Reichel came to J-DHS, she worked at Chittenango Elementary school for just under six years as a one-on-one aid.
