My name is Christine Woodcock Dettor and I have been a resident of the JD School District since 1999. Professionally, I am an attorney and partner at Bousquet Holstein PLLC, a diversified law firm with offices in Syracuse, Ithaca and New York City. I serve on the Management Committee of my law firm and am also a community volunteer on a number of not for profit and professional boards of directors.
For the past three years, I have served on the JD Board of Education and have worked diligently to bring the leadership and support necessary to assist the Superintendent, the Principals and the Faculty and Staff in steering the district through some very difficult times and transitions. It is my goal to ensure that our leadership and our faculty have the support they need at this very difficult time. Serving on the Finance Committee for three years, I understand all too well the financial and logistical challenges the District faces in light of the COVID-19 public health crisis. Who could have imagined the world we are now facing?
My husband Louie Dettor is a JD Alum and we have three children. Our daughter Julia will be a senior in the fall at Barnard College at Columbia University. Our son Andrew will be a sophomore at the University of Rochester and our youngest daughter Ally is finishing the 10th grade at JD High School. All three of the Dettor kids began their education in Kindergarten at Moses Dewitt and have attended JD schools all the way. Our district has provided incredible resources and opportunities for them at every stage and in every building and our children have grown and thrived as a result.
I believe that giving back to our community is essential. I will continue to do all I can to advocate for our children, our families and our JD District.
