Senior ball is right around the corner. On June 7, starting at 7 p.m. the Jamesville-DeWitt High School senior class and their dates will be getting ready for a night of fun, dancing, food, and entertainment at the Doubletree Hotel in Carrier Circle. The night will begin with refreshments and “finger foods.” For dinner, the students have a choice of either steak, chicken, or veggie ravioli. Following dinner, “the dance floor is really going to be pumpin’,” with DJ Wannajam Productions providing the tunes.
“I’m excited to strut my stuff and break it down on the dancefloor,” said senior class officer Griffin Johnson, who is also looking forward to “being with friends and just getting dressed up.” Johnson will be “peacocking it a little bit” because he says he is at his “best when I’m in a tux.” “I’m excited to stay up the whole night, said senior Maki Mandelis. “I also can’t wait to get into my tux and show off my moves on the dancefloor,” he continued. Senior Caroline Russel is also excited to get dressed up and take pictures.
The dance ends at midnight, but after the students can go to the Mattydale Strike n’ Spare for Operation Graduation’s after ball party, where they can bowl, eat, win prizes, play games, and take pictures in the photo booth. “I’m excited for the after party,” said senior Ben Katarsky; “hopefully I will win some good prizes.” There will also be popcorn, fries, pizza, sushi, subs, tenders, and desserts at the bowling alley. Each senior who attends will receive a prize, but the grand prizes will be raffled off and students will have to be in attendance when their name is called to claim their prize. Prizes vary from $30-$1000 value. Grand prizes include, TVs, laptops, printers, bladeless fans, mini fridges, iPods and all dorm accessories. Bowling will end at 4 a.m., though students are able to leave at anytime.
