Who’s Running for Class Officer

As the presidential election looms over the country, the students at Jamesville-DeWitt High School have a different election to be worried about. On September 20th and 23rd, students will be voting for their class officers to see who will be their representatives for the 2024-2025 school year. Class officers are part of the Student Government and run in groups known as slates. Each slate has their own internal organization, which is decided by the officers before they run. They are primarily responsible for fundraising for their class. For junior and senior slates, they are also responsible for planning Junior Prom and Senior Ball. A slate only receives one vote in the Student Council. Freshmen conducted their voting during the end of their 8th grade year and will not be voting this time. As for the remaining classes, their voting day depends on what year they are in.
